Wild Women RSA

“If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.” – Katharine Hepburn

THE INAUGURAL RUN

“She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible.” – Ariana Dancu

The inaugural run took place in April 2012 from Mazeppa Bay to Glen Gariff on the Wild Coast of South Africa– approximately 100km over a three-day period.

The running routes vary every year and the terrain is a mix of long beaches and grassy tracks with short bursts of taxing rocky or sandy terrain, complimented by the notorious Wild Coast hills when the group ventures inland.

Wild Women on the Run has continued to attract like-minded women to join the adventure on an annual basis.

THE INAUGURAL RUN

RUNNING FOR A REASON

“She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings.” – Ariana Dancu

We selected charities for WW based on the following criteria:  charities should be local and rooted in the Eastern Cape and they should be managed by strong women who give back to their communities despite ongoing challenges. They should be tangibly helping local, disadvantaged, women, children and babies to have an opportunity to succeed in life.

HOW TO SUPPORT US

All our chosen community projects are registered non-profit organisations (NPOs). This offers a wonderful opportunity for businesses of all sizes to make a difference through their corporate social responsibility initiatives.

BENEFITS OF GIVING:

  • Scoring up to 5 B-BBEE points under the category Socio-Economic Development
  • Tax benefits from a donation (the donated amount is tax deductible up to 10% of annual taxable income)
  • Significant exposure via social media, print media, and radio leading up to the annual event

Private individuals are also welcome to make a donation (and receive a tax benefit) through any Wild Women.

All funds raised are donated directly to the selected community projects.

Each Wild Woman is required to ‘pay her own way’ – none of the sponsorship money is used to fund runners. Every donation, irrespective of value, makes a direct difference in the lives of beneficiary women and children.
